Concrete blocks, rising to the skies
My escape, I cover up my eyes
The walls we have just won't contain us
I stay inside to feel dangerous
Turn to no one, face the cameras
In this room I'm almost famous

Concrete blocks, they shift and then they shake
Shaping us, they leave us in their wake
I yearn to stand and look through windows
Instead I sit and keep the blinds closed
Time, it passes if you're patient
Share my life of isolation

Concrete blocks, familiar yet so strange
Far from me, are coming into range
There might be times when we'll command them
Before I've turned from young to old man
Concrete floods always beneath me
The only way I have to feel free
